Routine eye exams

Regardless of your age or physical health, it is important for everyone to have regular eye exams.

Eye care starts with routine examinations. Our complete examination will reveal any eye problems, even hidden ones you may not be aware of.

Diabetic eye exams

Diabetic eye exams help find out whether or not a patient is diabetic.

Diabetic eye disease is defined as a group of eye-related health issues that are particularly common among diabetes sufferers.

Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in diabetics - caused by a change in the blood vessels situated in the retina.

Cataract surgery

Cataract surgery involves removing the natural lens of the eye and replacing it with an artificial lens (intraocular lens implant or IOL). The plastic artificial lens is permanent, requires no care, and can significantly improve vision. Newer artificial lens options include those that simulate the natural focusing ability of a young lens, allowing for distance and some near vision, as well.

Cataract surgery is typically an outpatient procedure that takes less than an hour. Most patients are awake during the procedure and need only local anesthesia. If you need to have cataracts in both eyes removed, the procedure is typically scheduled for two separate surgeries. This allows time for the first eye to heal before the second eye surgery takes place.

Glaucoma treatment

Glaucoma is commonly treated with eye drops, and surgery for some forms or when drug therapy is not effective.

The three major treatments are medications, laser surgery, and surgery. These will help control glaucoma.

Contact lens services

Successful contact lens wear begins with a comprehensive eye examination by the ophthalmologist and a thorough fitting by the contact lens provider. The choice of contact lenses is based upon the clinical findings of the doctor and lifestyle and personal preferences of the patient.
